Job Description
CS Vertical Flight Solutions is seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Associate to support the Finance Manager in overseeing financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving financial stability. This role plays a key part in budgeting, financial reporting, strategic planning, and risk management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, be attentive to details, and a commitment to financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Assist in preparing and analyzing financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards, including:
- Income Statement (Profit & Loss)
- Balance Sheet (Statement of Financial Position)
- Cash Flow Statement
- EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization)
- Estimated at Completion (EAC) Reports
- Remittance reports
- Support budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management to optimize financial performance.
- Assists with bookkeeping, invoicing, and administrative tasks.
- Assist in coordinating annual audits, liaising with external auditors, reviewing findings, and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with senior management to advise on long-term financial planning and business strategy.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure compliance with financial laws, regulations, and industry standards, including:
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) regulations
- Familiarity with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) procedures
- Review and maintain all finance-related contracts, legal documents, and regulatory filings.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and company financial policies.
Accounts & Cash Flow Management
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks and opportunities.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise and support finance department staff, including accountants and financial assistants.
- Develop relationships with internal leadership, external stakeholders, and financial partners.
- Improve and refine financial policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
- 3-5 years of finance/accounting management experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial statistics, accounting principles, and statutory regulations.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-finance professionals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Preferred:
- Experience working with government contracts or defense-related financial regulations.
- Familiarity with DCAA/DCMA compliance and financial oversight of government contracts.
